Precision-based dark fantasy RPG
Dark Tap RPG is a premium role-playing game for mobile from developer Snow Games. It's a 2D side-scrolling adventure featuring a distinct dark art style and presentation. In it, players are heroes born from the shadows, and they will utilize their unique powers to defeat the forces of evil and fulfill their destiny.
Combining dark fantasy themes like that of Elderand with the precise rhythm-like gameplay of DEEMO, Dark Tap RPG offers an experience that's easy to get into yet hard to master. They are complemented by intuitive controls and a progression system that allows for various character builds.
Born from the darkness
Dark Tap RPG takes place in a dark fantasy world wherein you play as a former demon shunned by the world into obscurity and now resides in the deepest depths of darkness. However, there's the heart of a brave hero beating inside you. Thus, begins a grand journey to defeat the forces of evil using your unique power as a shadow warrior and fulfill your true destiny.
Gameplay is where things get more interesting in Dark Tap PRG as it boasts precision-based combat, wherein you carefully time and align taps on a running meter to deal damage to enemies. Failure to do so will leave you vulnerable to attacks instead. Build up enough perfect taps to trigger Fever Time which lets you attack continuously with taps without penalties—crucial against boss battles.
You can get coins for each enemy defeated and you can use them to purchase upgrades to core stats like damage and health, as well as unlock skills, gear, and other shadow warriors with unique abilities. That said, the amount of coins you need to collect for the latter is a lot, and this aspect of the game will feel quite grindy for a lot of players.
Quite fun
All in all, Dark Tap RPG is a simple yet engaging adventure game that will test your reflexes and precision to succeed in battles. There are multiple characters, skills, and equipment to unlock, so you can experiment with different play styles that suit you. The gameplay experience can feel a bit repetitive and grindy after a while for unlocks, though.
